Skin Cancer Checks – Buderim & Chancellor Park | Ninox Health

Early detection is important. Our GPs at Ninox Health have a special interest in skin cancer checks and provide thorough skin assessments at both our Buderim and Chancellor Park clinics on the Sunshine Coast.

Regular skin checks may help identify changes early and support timely follow-up or treatment if needed.

What to Expect at Your Skin Check

During your skin check, a GP will:

  • Ask about your medical and skin history
  • Conduct a full-body skin examination using a dermatoscope (a magnifying tool)
  • Assess moles, freckles, or skin lesions for signs of change
  • Discuss monitoring, removal, or referral options if anything requires further attention
  • If needed, your doctor may recommend a biopsy or minor procedure or refer you for further assessment.

Who Should Consider a Skin Check?

You may benefit from a skin check if:

  • You notice a new or changing mole or spot
  • You have a family or personal history of skin cancer
  • You have fair skin, a high number of moles, or past sun damage
  • You’ve used tanning beds or experienced frequent sunburn
  • Your GP will help determine how often you should return for follow-up skin checks based on your personal risk factors.
