Dr Kerry Whannel

Dr Kerry Whannel is a Glasgow trained doctor who graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2000. Dr Kerry then spent 11 years working across surgical disciplines with a special interest in breast disease prior to immigrating to Australia. Dr Kerry has spent over 10 years in Australia working in Emergency Medicine and General Practice.
Dr Kerry has a special interest in adolescent health and women’s health but enjoys the variety of general practice as a whole, including minor procedures, Implanon insertion, iron infusions, skin cancer management, antenatal care and men’s health. She enjoys providing preventative health care management for patients of all ages.
Aside from her clinical roles, Dr Kerry has also spent several years on several advocacy non-government and government groups to assist in developing frameworks for better health and support for young persons with chronic disease. Patient advocacy is a highly regarded component of Kerry’s role as a GP.
Outside of work, Dr Kerry spends time with her husband, three teens and their beautiful furry friends. She is a keen walker and since moving to the coast in 2023, Dr Kerry is loving exploring the hills and peaks around Glasshouse and the hinterland. Kerry continues to work across emergency and acute care services locally to enhance her ability to provide high quality primary care to her patients in general practice and is consulting at Ninox Chancellor park 3 days each week.
