Dr Emily Heaney is a GP Registrar who completed her medical degree at the Australian National University. She began her medical career on the Sapphire Coast in New South Wales before gradually relocating up the East Coast to the Sunshine Coast.

She enjoys all aspects of General Practice and has particular interests in chronic disease management, travel medicine, paediatrics, clinical research, antenatal shared care, sexual health and HIV medicine.

Dr Emily has a strong and growing commitment to HIV medicine. She is currently undertaking additional training to become an S100 prescriber, enabling her to provide comprehensive HIV treatment and ongoing management. She is passionate about delivering evidence‑based, stigma‑free care and supporting patients in navigating both prevention and treatment options. While completing her additional training, she is able to provide PrEP and PEP and is dedicated to improving access to high‑quality sexual health services within the community.
